We had already reserved our place at Mr. Prime Rib restaurant on Barrydowne Road in Sudbury for Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Due to a very busy Christmas season for all involved, this would be the first time we could be together in 2010.
Having been here a few times before, we thought that Mr. Prime Ribe would be an ideal place to start this years adventure.
Anticipation filled the air as we entered the softly lit restaurant and were guided to our table.
Our super-friendly waitress was also super-busy being seemingly over-worked as she rushed around to serve her section of the restaurant. In spite of her hectic pace, she looked after us very well, pausing to ask how we were doing every time she sped by.
She was helped by a young man who brought our perfectly cooked meals to our table along with our drinks and, more importantly, our desert tray.
The decor was similar to the Apollo restaurant with muted tones and ample but unobtrusive lighting. The background music was there but did not intrude on our conversation.
It seemed more like sitting in someone's living room rather than in a restaurant. The tables and chairs were plain but nice with plenty of room between. Quite unlike the King's Buffet where everyone is jammed together to get more people in, this place presented a much more relaxed style.
We started with an appetizer - escargot with cheeze - but it had disappeared before I got a chance to take a photo.
Everyone placed their order and our meals tasted better than we had expected.
The desert tray appealed to several of us as we made our choices from the nicely presented array of sweet things.
Our total bill for 3 adults and one pre-teen was $125.88 before tax and tip with no alcohol.
A very pleasant evening for all.
Highly recommended
Thanks to Sonic Northern who are kind enough to sponsor us.
